#GamingBytes: Grimstroke is the newest playable hero in DOTA 2
Grimstroke is DOTA 2's new hero, which players can access right now. It was revealed on August 25. Another hero, Mars, was teased at the same time. He will be available, this winter. Not much is known about Mars except for his ability to summon soldiers. Grimstroke, on the other hand, is a 'support disable type' and is capable of ranged attacks.
The stroke of his brush will mark your fate
Grimstroke is cunning, sophisticated and a skilled manipulator. His power comes from the ink in his rune-binding brush. Although Grimstroke was groomed to be a protector of his people, he was too ambitious. His path to power required the sacrifice of his entire race. The anguished souls reside in Grimstroke's brush and give him the dark power that makes him stand apart.
He's got the power
All Grimstroke's powers have paintbrush or ink themes. 'Stroke of Fate' lets him use a swath of ink to damage enemies increasingly and slow them down. 'Phantom Embrace' is an irritating attack where a phantom will latch itself onto a player. If it survives the latch period, the player is heavily damaged. The phantom then returns to Grimstroke to start the cool down period.
Tangled up in ink
Other Grimstroke's attacks include 'Ink Swell'. This covers Grimstroke or an ally in ink. It makes them stealthier, quicker and immune to attacks. The ink also explodes to damage nearby enemies. 'Soulbind' is a simple binding attack. The targeted enemy gets bound to his ally. Any damage done to one gets done to the ally. These abilities make Grimstroke a formidable character.
