Adam Gilchrist comes up with priceless advise for Rishabh Pant
Young Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has been on the receiving end for his immature style of gameplay. This is both with the bat and for his work behind the stumps, as he is being backed to replace former Indian skipper MS Dhoni. However, former Aussie legend Adam Gilchrist has said that Pant should stick to his original gameplay, rather than emulating Dhoni.

"My advice to Rishabh Pant will be: learn everything you can from Dhoni. Don't try to be Dhoni. Just try to be the best Rishabh Pant you can," asserted Gilchrist while speaking during a promotional event, reports IANS.
Gichrist calls for fans not to compare Pant with Dhoni
Gilchrist also believes that the Indian fans are wrong at comparing Pant with Dhoni right away, since the latter has set a huge benchmark, which is unlikely to be matched anytime soon. "Rishabh looks like a very talented young player. Just don't put too much pressure on him too early and expect that he's going to produce Dhoni-like performances every day," he added.
Pant at the receiving end following reckless gameplay of late
Pant has been criticized for playing irresponsibly, especially for his immature shot selection. Indian head coach Ravi Shastri was vocal about it following his poor outing in the ODIs against Windies and South Africa, where he could barely score 20 or more in the entire series. He managed to score 27 in the last T20I against Bangladesh on Sunday.
Gilchrist delighted at India playing their first-ever Day-Night Test
As India prepare to host and play their first-ever D/N Test, on November 22, against Bangladesh in Kolkata, Gilchrist expressed his delight, but called for venue differentiation, citing dew factors. "There are going to be issues, particularly in India with the dew. It will take a bit of time to work out which venues will host the Day-Night Test," he said.
Gilchrist expects India to play D/N Test in Australia next
"I expect there will be a Day-Night Test when India visits Australia for the tour next time. I was a bit reluctant with Test cricket initially. But now I can see that the positive outcomes of Day-Night Test will help Test cricket," Gilchrist further added.
