Paris Masters: It's Federer versus Djokovic in semis
Tennis fans will be glued to television sets when Roger Federer faces world number one Djokovic in the semis of the Paris Masters. The two legends of the game have 34 Grand Slams between them. Djokovic goes into the game as the favorite after being in top form since his win at the Wimbledon. Here is more.
Both come from impressive victories
Djokovic came back from a set down to beat Croatia's Marin Cilic 4-6, 6-2, 6-3. He sealed the victory in two hours and 12 minutes. On the other hand, Federer dispatched Japan's Nishikori 6-4, 6-4 in one hour and 21 minutes. Federer, who won the Swiss Indoors title for a record ninth time, is one trophy short of completing 100 tournament victories.
Djokovic is in supreme form
Djokovic, who has won 2 Slams this year, is on a 21-match winning streak. That's what makes him a danger prospect. He was ranked outside top 20 earlier this year, and his resurgence saw him clinching the number one ranking. Djokovic- a winner of 4 Paris Masters titles, will take the number one position from Nadal on Monday.
Big match on the cards
There is a final at stake as Federer and Djokovic are set to meet for the 47th time in their career. Djokovic leads Federer 24-22 in their career meetings. Since the start of Wimbledon, Djokovic has a 30-1 record. This match is only the duo's second meeting since February 2016. Djokovic beat Federer in the final of Cincinnati Masters this year.
