#GamingBytes: Devil May Cry 5 introduces 'The Void' training mode
Devil May Cry 5 is Capcom's latest addition to the series and is slated to release for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on March 8, 2019. However, before its release, game producer Walker and the director Hideaki revealed the new training mode at Microsoft's X018 event. The formalized in-game training mode has been dubbed 'The Void'. Read all about it here.
Stare at 'the Void' and it stares back
The Void is the first time DMC is including formalized training areas. Newcomers can experiment with various moves, weapons, and enemies. Pros can perfect combo moves and gameplay. The mode allows players to tweak the AI to turn attack or damage off for pure training before hardcore gaming action. Notably, the unlimited Devil Breakers option allows players to practise without losing their Devil Breakers.
All about the Devil Breakers
The Capcom reveal showed different Devil Breakers like Pasta Breaker allowing the playable character, Nero, to cycle between other Devil Breakers. They also revealed Sweet Surrender, the only Devil Breaker that heals and can be sacrificed in Break Gauge moves to recover three health bars.
The advantage of a training mode
Devil May Cry is primarily about stylized attacks while trying to avoid taking damage. Keeping this in mind, the addition of the training mode is a well thought out move by Capcom. Players can experiment with different gaming styles, learn enemy movement patterns and perfect their gameplay before jumping in to face the real hardcore challenges that the game promises to present.
