The ICC Champions Trophy, popularly known as the "mini World Cup," will start its 2025 edition on February 19.
This year, Pakistan will host the tournament and India will play their matches in Dubai.
Over the years, India's performance in this prestigious ODI tournament has been a mix of highs and lows.
Meanwhile, here we look back at India's campaign in the preceding CT edition, which took place in England in 2017.
Initial setbacks
Summary of India's campaign
India entered the 2017 Champions Trophy as defending champions, having tasted glory in 2013. Their campaign started on a high as Virat Kohli's men beat Pakistan in their opener.
Their next clash against Sri Lanka saw them suffer a shock defeat. However, they cleared the group stage with a win against South Africa.
While they comprehensively beat Bangladesh in the semi-final, Pakistan upset them in a one-sided summit clash.

A winning start over Pakistan
India's opener against Pakistan was a rain-curatiled affair in Cardiff.
Each of India's top-four batters Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Kohli, and Yuvraj Singh hammered fifties as the Men in Blue posted 319/3 in their 48 overs.
The Men in Green were folded for just 164 in response as Umesh Yadav dismissed three batters.
Azhar Ali (50) was the only one to score over 35 from the team.

Dhawan's ton goes in vain
India's next game was at London's Kennington Oval as they posted a challenging 321/6 while batting first.
Openers Rohit and Dhawan added 138 runs with the former scoring a brilliant 125. Rohit made 78. This was clubbed with a fiery 63* from former skipper MS Dhoni.
Despite losing an early wicket, SL (322/3) crossed the line in the 49th over.
While Kusal Mendis (89) top scored for them, Danushka Gunathilaka (76) and skipper Angelo Mathews (52*) also scored fifties.

The thumping of South Africa
India bowled out South Africa for 191 in their last league game at the Kennington Oval.
Notably, the Proteas were 76/0 at one stage before they collapsed. Pacers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets each.
The Indian unit (193/2) prevailed in just 38 overs thanks to Dhawan (78) and skipper Kohli (76*).

Another one-sided win in semi-final
India defeated Bangladesh by nine wickets to reach the finals.
Chasing 265 in Birmingham, Dhawan and Rohit put on a 87 run partnership for the opening wicket.
Rohit (123*) then partnered with Kohli (96*) to score 178 runs together and help India win by nine wickets.
Earlier in the game, Bhuvneshwar, Bumrah, and Kedar Jadhav dismissed two batters each as the Tigers could only manage 264/7.

The shocking failure against Pakistan
India suffered one of the biggest defeats at the hands of Pakistan in the finals at the Kennington Oval.
Fakhar Zaman's magnificent 114 propelled Pakistan to 338/4. Mohammad Hafeez (57*) and Azhar Ali (59) made fifties.
India lost regular wickets in response as Mohammad Amir (3/16) and Hasan Ali (3/19) wrapped things up to secure a massive 180 run victory.
The margin of Pakistan's victory would have been even higher had Hardik Pandya not scored a fiery 43-ball 76.
Honors
Dhawan again tops ths scoring chart
Dhawan, who was also the leading run-getter of the 2013 CT, again topped the scoring charts with 338 runs at 67.60.
His partner-in-crime Rohit was the only other batter with 300-plus runs (304 at 76). Skipper Kohli managed 258 runs at 129.
While Bhuvneshwar recorded seven scalps at 28.14, no other Indian bowler could even manage five wickets across five games.
