IPL 2019: DC beat SRH, here are the records broken
Delhi Capitals overcame Sunrisers Hyderabad in match number 58 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019. With this victory in the Eliminator, DC have reached Qualifier 2 of IPL 2019 and will face Chennai Super Kings for a place in the final. Batting first, SRH posted 162/8. DC then managed to clinch a thriller and win by two wickets. Here's more.
DC bowlers notch these feats
Amit Mishra (1/16) extended his career IPL wickets tally to 156. This was the 10th IPL season in which Mishra managed to pick 10-plus wickets. Ishant Sharma (2/34) now has 12 wickets for DC this season. That's the third best tally for the side. Keemo Paul (3/32) registered his second best bowling figures in IPL. He now has nine scalps this season.
Dhawan surpasses 500 runs in IPL 12, Shaw shines
Manish Pandey (30) ended as SRH's third highest run-scorer this term (344). Kane Williamson (28) surpassed the 1,300-run mark in IPL. Shikhar Dhawan (17) became only the fifth batsman to surpass 500 runs in IPL 12. He hit three fours and extended his career IPL fours tally to 521. Prithvi Shaw registered his second fifty this season and a fourth overall.
A look at some of the impressive feats registered
Khaleel Ahmed shined for SRH with the ball. The left-arm pacer raced to 19 wickets in IPL 12 in just nine matches. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2/42) has raced to 133 career IPL wickets. Wriddhiman took two catches and accounted for a stumping. He now has 75 dismissals as a keeper in IPL. He has 56 catches and 19 stumpings.
How did the match pan out?
SRH got off to a flier, before they lost both their openers within the seventh over. Pandey and Williamson tried to resurrect the innings, but they fell in quick succession. Cameos from Vijay Shankar and Mohammad Nabi helped SRH get past 160. In reply, Shaw was terrific and gave DC the ideal platform. SRH then hit back, but DC managed to hold on.
