Champions Trophy semi-final: David Miller sets records in fighting ton
What's the story
David Miller slammed a fighting ton for South Africa against New Zealand in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy semi-final in Lahore.
He completed his ton on the final ball as SA failed chase 363.
Miller's knock kept SA in the hunt after they were 218/8. He eventually slammed the fastest Champions Trophy ton.
The Proteas batter also completed 1,000 ODI runs in Asia.

Miller came in post Heinrich Klaasen's dismissal with the scoreboard reading 167/4 in 28.4 overs.
Temba Bavuma and Rassie van der Dussen earlier added a century stand to lift SA.
Although Miller kept going, no other batter supported him in the run-chase. It was too late for SA before Miller completed his ton. He slammed a 67-ball 100* (10 fours and 4 sixes).

Fastest ton in Champions Trophy
As per Cricbuzz, Miller now has the fastest century in Champions Trophy history (67 balls).
He broke the record of Virender Sehwag (2002) and Josh Inglis (2025), both of whom took 77 balls for their tons.
This was also Miller's second ton in ICC ODI tournaments knockouts. He also scored a ton against Australia in the 2023 World Cup semi-final in Kolkata.

Playing his 45th match in Asia, Miller raced past 1,000 runs, averaging 33.93 in this regard. The tally includes four fifties (100s: 2).

While Miller played just his third game in Pakistan, he owns 251 runs in Sri Lanka at 31.37. He averages 14.25 across eight innings in UAE.
