Brian Lara heaps praise on Indian skipper Kohli: Details here
Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli is expected to run the show in the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019 starting in England and Wales from May 30 onwards. Kohli has been in top form since the last couple of years and the runs amassed by him across the format tell us the story. In the same light, legend Brian Lara praised Kohli. Here's more.
He is a machine: Lara on Kohli
"He is a machine. He has brought a different cricketer to the table than what we were accustomed to. Fitness was always important, but it wasn't as important as it's now. He is someone who has shown working on your fitness is key," said Lara.
Kohli has taken the game to another level
Kohli has taken the game to the next level. Several former cricketers likened the 30-year-old as the GOAT. Till date, Sachin Tendulkar has always been considered the best ever, but Kohli is bettering the records. Kohli has already eclipsed several of Tendulkar's records in the last couple of years. When asked, who is the better batsman, Lara said that he wouldn't want to compare.
I wouldn't want to compare Sachin and Virat, says Lara
"Sachin Tendulkar to me is one of the greatest of all times and he had his opportunity and he left a great legacy so I wouldn't want to compare the two. But Kohli is a special talent and is a great example for young cricketers."
