Bumrah, Bhuvi give India the perfect start
India put the pressure from the start and never allowed New Zealand to breathe easy. Jasprit Bumrah was the star man for India and got the struggling Martin Guptill for one. Both Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled in tight channels and made scoring very difficult. From there on Henry Nicholls (28) added a labored 68-run stand with Williamson.
Here are all the possible scenarios
Jadeja shows his value
Ravindra Jadeja showed why he is such a valuable member of this Indian team. The all-rounder bowled tight and gave away just 34 runs from his quota of 10. Jadeja chocked the run-flow and got the key wicket of Nicholls.
Williamson notches 39th career ODI fifty
Kane Williamson played a patient innings and scored a 95-ball 67. The Kiwi skipper became the sixth batsman to score 500-plus runs in the ongoing World Cup (548). He is now the fourth highest run-scorer in CWC 19 as well. Williamson also went past 900 ODI runs in 2019 (918). This was his sixth fifty this year and a 39th career one as well.
Williamson and Taylor once again rescue New Zealand
Williamson was part of two key stands and gave New Zealand something to cheer for. After the fifty-plus stand with Nicholls, the stylish Williamson added another 65-run stand with Ross Taylor. Taylor played defensively throughout, but managed to stay on and get past fifty. This was Taylor's seventh ODI fifty in 2019 and surpassed the 900-run mark too. He amassed his 50th ODI fifty.
