IPL 2019: CSK beat KXIP, here are the records broken
Chennai Super Kings fought their way back with excellent bowling to down Kings XI Punjab in the ongoing 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). This was CSK's fourth win this season and they occupy the top place. Batting first, CSK managed 160/3. In reply, KL Rahul and Sarfaraz Khan added a century-plus stand, but it wasn't enough. New feats for Sarfaraz and Rahul
Rahul and Sarfaraz added 110 runs for the third wicket. Safaraz managed to notch his maiden IPL fifty. Rahul went past the 1,500-run mark in IPL. He smashed his 12th career IPL fifty and a second of this season.
Faf du Plessis smashes 10th career IPL fifty
Faf du Plessis (54) struck his 10th career IPL fifty. He hit four sixes and is now just two hits away from registering the mark of 50 in IPL. Faf also surpassed the 1,500-run mark in the IPL (1,511). MS Dhoni (37*) surpassed the 150-run mark in IPL 2019 (156). Dhoni now has 192 sixes and is eight away from registering 200.
A day for off-spinners at the Chepauk
R Ashwin (3/23) now has 116 career IPL wickets. He went past Sunil Narine and Umesh Yadav in terms of IPL scalps (113). This was also his sixth wicket in IPL 12. Harbhajan Singh accounted for Chris Gayle's wicket for the fourth time in IPL history. He now has 138 wickets in the IPL.

The two teams met each other for the 21st time in the IPL. The men in yellow have now sealed 13 matches. KXIP have pocketed eight. At the Chepauk Stadium, CSK have earned four victories, whereas, KXIP have managed two wins.
How did the match pan out?
CSK got off to a strong start with Shane Watson and Faf adding 56 runs. Faf then joined hands with Raina to stitch 44 runs. Ashwin accounted for both of them. Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu then added 60 runs. In reply, Harbhajan rocked KXIP at the start. Rahul and Sarfaraz added the runs, but CSK spinners bowled superbly to seal the deal.
