CSK's Tushar Deshpande floors SRH with maiden IPL four-fer: Stats
Chennai Super Kings pacer Tushar Deshpande floored Sunrisers Hyderabad with a superb four-wicket haul in Match 46 of the Indian Premier League 2024 season at Chepauk. CSK managed 212/3 in 20 overs, riding on fifties from Ruturaj Gaikwad and Daryl Mitchell. In response, Deshpande took three wickets inside the powerplay before coming back at the death to complete a four-fer. SRH lost the match.
A solid four-wicket haul
CSK pacer Deshpande started poorly, conceding 14 runs from his first four deliveries. He dismissed Travis Head with a slower ball before getting Anmolpreet Singh with an away swinger off successive balls. In his second over, the right-arm pacer dismissed the dangerous Abhishek Sharma. He came back in the 18th over to send Pat Cummins back. Deshpande claimed 4/27 from three overs.
4th four-wicket haul for Deshpande in T20s
Deshpande is the third bowler in IPL 2024 to claim three wickets inside the powerplay after 3/14 - Trent Boult vs MI, Wankhede and 3/15 - Sandeep Warrier vs DC, Delhi. In 32 IPL matches, Deshpande now owns 35 wickets at 31.31. He picked up his maiden IPL four-fer. Overall in T20s, he has 109 scalps at 21.31. He registered his 4th four-fer.
CSK win by 78 runs
CSK claimed a 78-run win over SRH. Gaikwad's 98 and Mitchell's 52 helped CSK manage 212/3. Shivam Dube also did well with an unbeaten 39. In response, Deshpande and Mustafizur Rahman shared six wickets between them. SRH folded for 134.
