IPL 2019: CSK beat RR, here are the records broken
Chennai Super Kings beat Rajasthan Royals in match number 25 of the Indian Premier League 2019. This was CSK's sixth win this term. Rajasthan posted 151/7 after some brilliant bowling by the CSK bowlers. RR bowlers tried their best, but MS Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu batted well to anchor the innings. On the last ball, Mitchell Santner hit a six to take CSK home.
Dhoni notches some impressive feats
MS Dhoni has now amassed 195 sixes in the IPL. He needs five more to get to the mark of 200. The veteran wicket-keeper batsman became the ninth batsman to surpass 4,200-run mark in IPL. He also surpassed Shikhar Dhawan in terms of IPL runs.
Dhoni accounts for 122nd dismissal. Watson registers sixth IPL duck
MS Dhoni took one catch during first innings. He now has 122 dismissals in total as a wicket-keeper in IPL and needs only five more surpass KKR's Dinesh Karthik. Shane Watson recorded his sixth career duck in IPL. He equalled a host of players including Brendon McCullum and Virat Kohli. Deepak Chahar (2/33) has the second most wickets in IPL 12 (10).
Jadeja gets to 100 career IPL scalps, Rayudu shines
Ravindra Jadeja (2/20) now has 100 career IPL wickets. He became only the 13th bowler in IPL history to get to this mark. He also became the first left-arm spinner to take 100 scalps in IPL. Rayudu now has 18 career IPL fifties.
How did the match pan out?
RR once again struggled to find any momentum with the bat. They stuttered to the 150-mark after a late cameo by Shreyas Gopal. CSK's bowlers applied the brakes and took wickets at regular intervals. In reply, CSK lost quick wickets, before Ambati Rayudu and MSD got together. They added a 100-plus stand, as Jadeja and Santner finished the game in the last over.
