In a first of its kind incident, a cricketer from Andhra has been arrested for duping people by impersonating chief Indian selector MSK Prasad.
The cricketer, who goes by the name Budumuru Nagaraju, was arrested by the Vijayawada Police following a complaint that he had taken money from people, promising to build a cricket academy in Visakhapatnam.

Interestingly, in 2016, Nagaraju had attempted to enter the Guinness Book of World Records for the 'longest individual cricket net session' among men. He batted in the nets for 82 hours to script this record.
Motive
Nagaraju wanted to earn easy money
Police stated that Nagaraju enjoyed a successful run in domestic circuit.
He had earned a number of sponsorships. To support his lifestyle, he decided to earn easy money.
"He duped a person called N Gopal claiming that he would establish a Dhoni Cricket Academy in Visakhapatnam. Gopal filed a complaint and a case was registered in Visakhapatnam," ACP Central Y Ankineedu Prasad said.
Past
Nagaraju has been earlier arrested for similar incidents
The Police also said that this was not the first instance of Nagaraju doing such frauds. He has been arrested, a couple of times, for the same in the past.
He had duped people earlier, and upon his release, he started mimicking the voice of selector Prasad.
He had even collected Rs. 3.88 lakh from a housing firm, named Ramakrishna Housing Private Limited.
