There is a lot happening around the world of cricket and fans have plenty to be excited about. West Indies continued their march in the first home Test and are in a dominating position against Sri Lanka. New Zealand women broke the ODI record as they scored the highest total in history. Thailand eves stunned Sri Lankan counterparts in the ongoing Asia Cup T20.
Windies on top after gaining massive lead
West Indies dismissed Sri Lanka for a paltry total of 185 runs. West Indies had slammed 414 in their first innings. They came to bat with a healthy lead and are on 131/4 on stumps at Day 3. The hosts enjoy a 360-run lead against Lanka, with Powell hitting an unbeaten 64 off 80 balls in the second innings.
NZ eves score record ODI total in Dublin
NZ women created a world record against Ireland after slamming the highest score in the history of ODIs. The Kiwis notched 490/4 before dismissing Ireland for just 144 runs. Cara Murray of Ireland gave away the most number of runs in an ODI (119). Suzie Bates scored a stunning 94-ball 151; Maddy Green's 77-ball 121 too helped the Kiwis score a handful.
Thailand women stun Lankans in Asia Cup
Wongpaka Liengprasert starred for Thailand with both bat and ball to help her side stun Sri Lanka in the women's Asia Cup T20. Thailand stitched a 4-wicket victory off the last ball. Liengprasert took 5/12 with the ball before slamming a 9-ball 13 to guide her side home. Lanka were all out for 104 as Thailand ended at 105/6.
Scotland gear up for a match against England
Scotland will be looking to show their mettle, when they face England in an one-off ODI match on Sunday. England are currently the number one ODI side. Scotland skipper Kyle Coetzer is looking forward to the game and cited it's going to be a special day. The match will be held in The Grange, Edinburgh and is scheduled for a 3:30 PM start.
