Australia's summer schedule for 2019-20 announced: Details here
This term, Australia are set to have one of the most gruesome home seasons. They would play their upcoming home season until late March 2020, as they host their Trans-Tasman rivals New Zealand in the Chappell-Hadlee ODI series. Besides the Kiwis, Pakistan and Sri Lanka too are set to tour Down Under. Here are the further details on the same.
10 venues across Australia to host 28 international matches
A total of 28 matches are set to be played across 10 venues in Australia, including the ICC Women's World T20. Brisbane is set to host the opening Test of the summer against Pakistan from November 21. Meanwhile, Adelaide would host the first day-night Test of the season on November 29. It would followed by another against New Zealand in Perth on December 12.
Fulfill obligations to ICC FTP a juggling act
"Scheduling international cricket is challenging in that nine of the ten major cricketing countries have seasons similar to ours, so working with them to find space in the calendar to fulfill our obligations to the ICC FTP is a juggling act," CA's Peter Roach said.
Australia start proceedings against Sri Lanka
Australia start their home campaign with three T20Is against Sri Lanka. The first T20I is in Adelaide on October 27, followed by the second on October 30 in Brisbane, while the final T20I is in Melbourne on November 1.
