Reports claim that Ronaldo's team-mates were aware of his intentions
Reports claim that Cristiano Ronaldo's team-mates knew weeks in advance that the superstar wanted to leave the Spanish capital. CR7 had dropped hints that he would be leaving Madrid soon after they were crowned champions. The speculations turned rife when Ronaldo decided to give Real Madrid's kit launch a miss. However, given his massive exit clause, Ronaldo remains unaffordable for most of the clubs.
Ronaldo sparks speculations with his post match comment
"'It was very nice to be in Madrid. In the next few days I will give an answer to the fans, who have always been by my side.'" Ronaldo had said after Real Madrid's Champions League victory.
Ronaldo wants to be the top-paid player in the world
There is no doubt that Ronaldo is one of the top performers. However, his wages are not as high as Messi or Neymar. Messi is currently paid close to £35-40 million a season, whereas, Ronaldo gets £20 million . Ronaldo's threat could be a move to force a new contract from Real Madrid. Reportedly, he wants to become the highest paid footballer.
Cristiano Ronaldo is unaffordable
Ronaldo's contract has a £870 mn release clause. It means any club which wants to sign the Portugal captain will have to break the bank. United and Paris Saint-Germain are the only two clubs that can afford CR7. However, even these two will be put off by his massive release clause. So, would we see CR7 with a new club? We don't think so.
