Completely consensual: Cristiano Ronaldo opens up on rape allegations
Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo has stated, once again, that he did not rape former model Kathryn Mayorga in a Las Vegas hotel in 2009. His lawyer, Peter Christiansen, said in a statement that the footballer insists that the encounter was 'completely consensual'. This comes after the Las Vegas Police reopened an investigation into an alleged sexual assault, following claims made by Mayorga.
Allegations based on fabricated documents: Ronaldo's lawyer
Mayorga stated recently that she was raped by the former Manchester United player in a hotel room in Las Vegas in 2009. The report by Germany's weekly magazine Der Spiegel was brushed off by Ronaldo, who claimed it as fake news. Ronaldo's lawyer in the statement stated that the allegation was based on "stolen and easily manipulated digital documents".

Non-disclosure agreement was done to stop insulting accusations
As per Mayorga, there was an out-of-court settlement reached, with Ronaldo paying $375,000 to hush her up and sign a non-disclosure agreement. Christiansen revealed that "Ronaldo doesn't deny that he agreed to conclude an agreement." He added, "This agreement is by no means a confession of guilt." It was rather done after advisers guided him to put an end to accusations made against him.
What had Mayorga claimed?
According to Mayorga, she met Ronaldo at the VIP section of a Las Vegas nightclub in 2009, when she was 25 years old. The duo exchanged numbers and later met up at Ronaldo's penthouse, where Ronaldo had other friends over. Ronaldo then allegedly invited her to change into a swimsuit, took her to his bedroom, and anally raped her.
This isn't the first rape accusation against Cristiano Ronaldo
This isn't the first allegation of rape against Cristiano Ronaldo. In 2005, Ronaldo had been arrested and questioned for allegedly raping a woman in a London hotel. However, owing to insufficient evidence, Scotland Yard dropped the case against Ronaldo, who was 20 at the time.
