Leeds United legend Norman Hunter in hospital with coronavirus
Former England defender Norman Hunter is being treated in hospital after testing positive for coronavirus. His former club Leeds United have confirmed the same. Hunter went on to make 540 appearances for the club over 15 years. He went on to win two league titles and also featured in the 1975 European Cup final. Here's more.

Leeds United issued a statement and said they are with him at this moment. "Keep battling Norman, we are all with you," a Leeds statement said. "We would like to take this opportunity to remind the public and the media to respect the wishes of Norman and his family and to give them the space they need during this difficult time."
Hunter enjoyed a successful club career
Hunter gained immense reputation as a fearsome tackler. His nickname was 'Bites yer legs'. He formed a strong partnership with Jack Charlton at the back. He went on to win an European silverware in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, an FA Cup and a League Cup with Leeds to enjoy decent success. He bagged the PFA Player of the Year award for the 1973-74 season.

Only three Leeds players - Charlton, Billy Bremner and Paul Reaney went on to make more appearances for the club. Hunter also played for Bristol City and Barnsley in his career. He became a manager once his playing career ended and managed the Tykes along with Rotherham United. Notably, He was also part of Sir Alf Ramsey's England squad for the 1966 World Cup.
