Multiple Contra games to release in the 'Anniversary Collection'
Contra: Anniversary Collection is available on the Nintendo eShop and contains titles like Super Contra, Super C, Operation C, Contra 3: The Alien Wars, and Contra: Hard Corps. It will be available for PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One.
A faithful tribute to Contra is being developed
JoyMasher, a Brazilian studio (famous for Oniken and Odallus: The Dark Call) is in the process of developing a Contra-inspired title, Blazing Chrome. The game will release on July 11. It will be available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One. In the place of Bill and Lance, it will have a Robot called Suhaila and a ninja called Raijin.
A new game to release in the official 'Contra' series
Konami is keeping the Contra series alive with various spin-offs and sequels. Contra Rogue Corps is another in this line and will be akin to Super C and Contra 3: The Alien Wars, meaning it will be played top-down as opposed to the traditional sideways. The Nintendo Switch game will release on September 24 and will feature single-player as well as a multiplayer mode.
