Connolly's Sheffield Shield return and early season performance
Connolly was excited to return to play for WA. "Always love coming back to play for WA," he said.
Although he hasn't played many Shield games, he is looking forward to joining his teammates again.
The 21-year-old began the Shield season with consecutive half-centuries against Queensland and Tasmania.
He had previously scored 90 on his First-Class debut in last season's final match.
Career progression
Connolly's international journey and future aspirations
Connolly's rise has been nothing short of a fairy tale.
From an Australia A match against India A to suffering a fractured hand in an ODI against Pakistan, he bounced back in the BBL, where he was named Player of the Tournament.
His standout BBL performances earned him a spot on the Sri Lanka tour, leading to his Test debut.
Despite limited First-Class experience, he embraced the challenge, learning from veterans like Steven Smith.

"I felt like it wasn't really a surprise [making his Test debut]. I felt like if I was going to play, I earned my opportunity. It was an overall great trip to Sri Lanka and I loved it," said the all-rounder. Notably, he went wicket-less and could only score four runs in that game.

Connolly's future prospects and current focus
Although unsold at the IPL auction, Connolly's match against Victoria could be his last for a while, with no upcoming playing commitments.
He spoke of his aspirations saying, "The dream would be to play the IPL eventually... [but] I'm just concentrating on what's in front of me."
Connolly is looking to enjoy his cricket, hoping to score runs while honing his bowling.
