21st CWG: Gold medal for Indian women's table tennis team
Indian women's table tennis team bagged the gold medal at the ongoing 21st Commonwealth Games being held at the Gold Coast. This was India's seventh gold medal in the mega event. The women paddlers beat Singapore to earn this special victory. The team comprising of Mouma Das, Madhurika Patkar and Manika Batra emerged champions as they beat their opponents 3-1.

How did the final unfold?
In the first tie, Manika Batra beat veteran Tianwei Feng 11-8, 8-11, 7-11, 11-9, 11-7. In the next match, Mengyu Yu beat Madhurika Patkar in straight games 13-11, 11-2, 11-6. India's doubles pair of Patkar and Mouma Das eked out a victory in the 3rd match. Batra then sealed the fourth match in straight sets against Yihan Zhou to hand India the gold.
