#GamingBytes: Top landing spots in Call of Duty's Blackout
'Call of Duty: Black Ops 4' marked the foray of big budget games in the Battle Royale genre, as developers Treyarch introduced Blackout. As with all Battle Royale games, the choice of landing spots is pivotal in determining whether you can best your opponents since it impacts looting and chances of enemy encounters. With that in mind, we bring you Blackout's best landing spots.
A few tips for spot selection
Since Blackout has randomized map shrinks, it is best to pick possible landing spots beforehand. Gamers tend to fool around in the lobby before the match begins. Instead, use that time to view the map and pick landing spots depending on the convoy's travel path.
The lunatic is in the hall
Most players headed to the asylum are after zombie kills. Notably, the two storied building allows some great camping spots. The maze is also a good place to hide from enemies. Further, killing zombies will give you a chance to get Mystery Boxes and special weapons like Monkey Bomb grenade, Zweihander LMG or the favorite Ray Gun. Beware of the unique weapons attracting enemies.
Taking a ride into a town
The best part about Rivertown is its central location. Players can thus plan their moves accordingly based on the storm shrinks. The wide layout with multiple buildings offers adequate loot to gear up for battles. However, players must be cautious while moving between buildings as enemies tend to camp in the town's buildings, taking out stragglers who move on the streets of Rivertown.
A lighthouse standing empty by the edge of the sea
The lighthouse is one of the best locations for Blackout beginners. Situated at the map's far south, players avoid this place as getting back inside the playzone is time-consuming and difficult. However, the lighthouse provides great loot, especially the top of the tower which usually has level 3 armor. For a quick getaway after looting, an ATV sometimes spawns at the lighthouse walkway's end.
The building of a great game strategy
In terms of loot quality, Construction Site is decent. However, the real takeaway is the high ground advantage, making it a paradise for snipers. The housing complex on the south provides an excellent view of players coming from Nuketown island or the Array. Moreover, they provide high-grade armor and consumables. If players need to move quickly, a helicopter usually spawns in the forest, southwest.
The old favorite stages a return
Nuketown Island is high-risk, high-reward. Players must expect close quarter combat. However, both the ruined homes in the west and the sprawling underground bunker make this a looting goldmine. Moreover, there is a signpost in Nuketown displaying the number of players in the vicinity. Although an excellent looting spot, players must exercise caution while leaving since snipers closely monitor the southeastern and northeastern bridges.
