Prithvi Shaw will bounce back, says childhood coach
Young Indian Test opener Prithvi Shaw suffered a setback on Tuesday after the BCCI suspended him until November 2019 owing to a doping violation. As the suspension did come as a shock, Shaw stated that the banned substance, Terbutaline, was used to treat infection and not as a performance enhancing drug. Meanwhile, his childhood coach Santosh Pingulkar termed Shaw a 'fighter'. Here is more.
Shaw suspended for consuming banned substance found in cough syrups
According to a statement by the BCCI, Shaw had "inadvertently ingested a prohibited substance, which can be commonly found in cough syrups". He tested positive for Terbutaline. As a result, he was handed a backdated suspension, which would get over on November 15.
Pingulkar confident of Shaw bouncing back
Meanwhile, his childhood coach Pingulkar is all about Shaw's strong return to cricket following the conclusion of his suspension. Pingulkar said that Shaw is a fighter and would keep working hard to come out on top again. "Definitely the setback is huge, but I have the confidence that he (Shaw) will come out of it," said Pingulkar, as reported by PTI.
"Cough syrups are dangerous"
"Cough syrups are dangerous. Prithvi Shaw should have known it because all players are given a list of do's and don'ts by BCCI's anti-doping committee. He will come out of it. Everyone makes a mistake. Nothing to worry," mentioned columnist Makarand Waingankar in a tweet.

Shaw accepts suspension and fate
Following the suspension, Shaw admitted that although he was shaken by the verdict, he would continue to fight back and make a strong return to cricket. "Cricket is my life and there is no bigger pride for me than playing for India and Mumbai and I will come out of this faster and stronger," he added.

Shaw to miss home series against South Africa and Bangladesh
As Shaw faces his suspension, it has effectively ruled him out of the upcoming home series against South Africa and Bangladesh from September to November. Nonetheless, it would be interesting to see if he gets the call-up during the Windies series in December.
