Shubman Gill, the 25-year-old batting sensation, has made a remarkable comeback in the ongoing first Test against Bangladesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Gill entered after Rohit Sharma's departure in the third over, and he faced added pressure when Yashasvi Jaiswal also left the field with India at 28/2. Meanwhile, this was Gill's second Test hundred against Bangladesh as he now has 276 runs against them at 55.20.

Gill returned unbeaten on 119 off 176 balls, having smoked 10 boundaries and four maximums. With his eighth run, the youngster completed 1,500 (now 1,611) Test runs. Gill touched the 1,500-run mark in his 26th Test. While the Indian batter averages 37.46 in the format, his tally now includes five tons and six half-centuries. At home, he has 988 Test runs at 44.90.
