    What's the story

In a statement, the sacked chief ethics investigator and the chief judge said that the removal was "politically motivated."

They also said, "The impending removal will affect the work of the ethics commission and means the de facto end of FIFA's reform efforts."

The duo claimed that they wished to continue their work and said that world football will suffer after the decision.

FIFA replaces chief ethics investigator and judge

FIFA ruling council voted out the chief ethics investigator Cornel Borbely and top judge Hans-Joachim Eckert in sync with various sweeping changes announced by the governing body.

They were removed after the pair showed signals to block the reforms put forward by the organisation.

Both Cornel and Eckert had worked together to ban a number of football officials in recent years.

    Information

    Who will replace them?

FIFA has nominated Colombian prosecutor Maria Claudia Rojas as the new head of the investigatory chamber and Greek judge Vassilios Skouris as the head of the adjudicatory chamber.
