The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced a massive hike in the prize money for the upcoming 2025 Champions Trophy.
The total prize money has been set at $6.9 million, which is a whopping 50% increase from the last edition in 2017.
Meanwhile, the eight-team tournament will start on February 19, with India playing all their matches in Dubai, according to the hybrid model approved by the ICC.

The winners of the Champions Trophy 2025 will take home $2.24 million, while the runners-up will get $1.12 million.
The semi-finalists are set to get $560,000 each.
Meanwhile, the teams finishing fifth and sixth in the tournament will get $350,000 each.
The teams finishing seventh and eighth will get $140,000 each.

The ICC has also announced that every team will get $34,000 for every group stage win.
Additionally, a guaranteed amount of $125,000 has been kept aside for every participating team in the 2025 Champions Trophy.
The tournament will be held every four years and will see the top eight ODI teams in the world.
Notably, a Women's Champions Trophy in T20 format will debut in 2027.

The top eight teams for this year's tournament include India, Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, Bangladesh, debutants Afghanistan and the hosts Pakistan.
The two groups are as follows:
Group A - India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, New Zealand
Group B - Australia, England, South Africa, Afghanistan.
