Bayern vs Real: How to pick the winning Fantasy XI?
After an enthralling 5-2 win by Liverpool over AS Roma in the first leg of the semi-final tie at Anfield, it is time for Bayern Munich to take on familiar opponents Real Madrid. The match, at the Allianz Arena, sees two heavyweights with plenty of stars battle it out. So who will you pick in your Fantasy XI? Here we guide you!
We go ahead with a 4-4-2 formation
Keeping the team balance and value in mind, the best formation according to us could be the traditional 4-4-2. We expect goals and plenty of neat work in defense, besides a packed sturdy midfield. Two teams that are covered well in all areas.
Navas as the custodian and four top defenders
Real Madrid's Keylor Navas gets the nod as the goalkeeper of the side. Front of him is a traditional 4-man defense. Spaniard Dani Carvajal and Brazilian Marcelo have bombarded as full-backs for Real and go straight in. In the centre we go with the in-form Raphael Varane, who has been solid. Giving him company is Bayern's Mats Hummels, who was classy against Besiktas.
Kroos, Modric set base in midfield
it was a simple task to select the midfield. The two dynamic players Toni Kroos and Luka Modric are obvious choices after being the engine for the champions. With Bayern's in-form player Corentin Tolisso in doubt, we chose to go ahead with James Rodriguez. He has given some noteworthy performances. Thomas Muller makes the other wing and his experience has been vital for Bayern.
CR7 and Lewandowski the two strikers
Two straight choices and both are the talismans of their respective sides. Ronaldo's knack of scoring goals in such big matches is a well known fact as he has stacked up the records in the Champions League. Lewandowski, meanwhile, could be Bayern's positive factor in creating spaces and getting the goals. CR7 has 15 goals with Robert finding the net five times.
Ronaldo as captain, Marcelo his deputy
CR7 is our choice as skipper. As a player, he guarantees goals in every match he plays. He was the difference for Real against PSG and Juventus in the knockouts. Left-back Marcelo has been like a live wire on the pitch and is the vice-captain.
