Chahal wants to play for RCB all his life
Yuzvendra Chahal has gone on to become one of the most dominant force for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The wrist-spinner has been in tremendous form in the ongoing 12th edition as well. After making his debut in 2014, Chahal has been consistent in terms of wickets. Here's what he had to say.
A look at Chahal's IPL career
Chahal played just one game for Mumbai in 2013. In 2014, Chahal was signed by RCB and he quickly became a first team player. He enjoyed his best years in 2015 and 2016, where he took 23 and 21 wickets respectively. This season has seen Chahal pick 14 wickets at at average of 21. Overall, he has 96 wickets in 79 matches for RCB.
'You get more confidence when your captain backs you'
Chahal has credited Virat Kohli for his success at RCB. "Obviously you feel good, you get more confidence when your captain backs you. You always want to go for wickets, nothing happens if you go for runs as Kohli is constantly looking for wickets."
Chahal wants to play for RCB throughout his life
Chahal has picked up 49 IPL wickets in Bengaluru and he wants to keep playing for the franchise. "It's like a family to me, when I came here in 2014 I never thought that I'll play for this franchise. I really enjoy when I come to Bengaluru and I only want to play for RCB in the IPL throughout my life," Chahal said.
Chahal will want to end IPL 2019 on a high
Chahal will want to end IPL 2019 on a high. With the ICC World Cup 2019 set to start from May 30 onwards, a solid performance can help Chahal be India's main spinner. He will fight for a spot against Kuldeep Yadav in most games. Kuldeep has been terrible for Kolkata Knight Riders in the ongoing IPL season. Confidence will be the key here.
