Suresh Raina has been one of the top performers in the T20 format. Further, the southpaw has been brilliant for Chennai Super Kings over the years in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He had also led Gujarat Lions for two seasons during CSK's suspension. Raina will be aiming to make it count in IPL 2019. Here are records which he could script.
Raina played an important role in IPL 11

Raina 15 runs away from this incredible feat
The veteran southpaw is the leading run-scorer in the IPL (4,985). He needs 15 more to get past 5,000 IPL runs. Chennai open their campaign against RCB this season and Raina could get to the feat in the opening match itself. He will fight it out with RCB skipper Virat Kohli, who has scored 4,948 runs. This will be a special moment.
Raina not far away from this special achievement
Raina is regarded as one of the best fielders in the world. The veteran has taken a total of 95 catches and leads the show. He needs just five more to be the first outfielder to have 100 IPL catches, under his belt.
Raina nearing special records in terms of fours and sixes
Raina has hit a total of 185 IPL sixes and needs 15 more to get past 200. AB de Villiers and MS Dhoni (both 186) and Rohit Sharma (184) are in the fray as well. Chris Gayle (292 sixes) tops the list. Raina has also amassed 448 fours and is third on the list. He needs 44 more to surpass leader Gautam Gambhir (491).
Raina can become the leading half-centurion
