Unique records Cristiano Ronaldo can script this season
After a decent debut campaign for Juventus in 2018-19, former Real Madrid legend Cristiano Ronaldo will be eyeing to have a major say in the side's upcoming campaign. Like Lionel Messi, Portuguese Ronaldo has been amongst the records in almost every season. Ronaldo has delivered in domestic and European club football over the years. Here are the records which CR7 can script in 2019-20.
A look at Ronaldo's amazing career feats
Ronaldo arrived in Manchester United as a young boy and took over the mantle quickly. He played 292 matches for the club and scored a whopping 118 goals. Ronaldo moved to Real Madrid in 2009 for a world record fee. He ended up amassing 450 goals in just 438 appearances for Los Blancos. CR7 then moved to Juventus last term and scored 28 goals.
A break down of his goals in UCL and leagues
Ronaldo holds the record for the most Champions League goals in the history of the competition (126). He amassed 15 UCL goals for United, 105 for Real and six for Juventus. Ronaldo amassed 84 EPL goals, 311 in La Liga and 21 in Serie A.
Ronaldo can script these records in Champions League
Ronaldo has been in the Champions League squad of the season for six consecutive years. 2019-20 could see him seal seventh successive honors. If he ends up becoming the highest goal-scorer in the 2019-20 UCL, then it will be for the eighth time Ronaldo will achieve this feat. Ronaldo can also win his sixth UCL trophy across three different clubs.
Ronaldo can clinch this record in domestic league
Ronaldo was the fourth highest goal-scorer in Serie A last season. If he ends up scoring the most goals in the Italian League in 2019-20, then he will achieve a record of being the best forward across three leagues. He was La Liga's top goal-scorer in 2010-11, 2013-14 and 2014-15. He won the Premier League Golden Boot in 2007-08 as well.
Ronaldo in sight of these feats as well
Ronaldo has appeared in 162 UCL appearances. This season he could surpass the 170-match mark. Only Iker Casillas (177) is above Ronaldo. If CR7 manages to net 18 goals in the UCL in 2019-20, then he will break his own record of 17 in 2013-14. Both Messi and Ronaldo have eight UCL hat-tricks. So one can expect either of the two to race ahead.
