National-level boxer shot dead, body found in Greater Noida flat
In a shocking case of gruesome murder, a 27-year-old boxer was found lying in a pool of blood in his apartment in Greater Noida. The victim has been identified as Jitender Mann, a junior level boxer who competed at several international boxing championships. The police claimed that he was killed two days ago.
Body ridden with bullets
Mann, who recently quit boxing due to injuries, had been working as a gym instructor in Alpha 1 area of Greater Noida. He was found dead with four bullets in his body. The body has now been sent for postmortem. The police are also looking into the CCTV footage from the building in search of some leads.
Why was he killed?
Mann's family suspected foul play after the boxer's phone calls went unanswered. Incident came to light, when the police broke open the door only to find the former national level boxer lying in a pool of blood. The motive behind the murder is unknown. The victim's mobile phone is missing from the apartment.
Mann was a national level boxer
Mann, who is a resident of Delhi, was a national level boxer who competed in several junior boxing tournaments including the ones in Uzbekistan, Cuba, France, Russia and other countries. He had won two gold, one silver and one bronze in competitions held in Delhi, Uttarakhand and Tamil Nadu. We hope his family gets justice and the culprit gets arrested soon.
