#GamingBytes: Black Ops 4 players using emotes unfairly
Blackout is Call of Duty Black Ops 4's highly competitive Battle Royale. However, trust gamers to find a loophole and use it to their advantage. In Blackout, players are misusing the emote, which is officially called Gestures, in order to check their surroundings and gain an unfair advantage over their opponents. Treyarch is aware of this issue and is working to fix it.
Peek a boo into the game
Black Ops 4, keeping in line with Call of Duty games, delivers a first-person shooter experience. Thus in the Blackout mode, gamers are resorting to using emotes so they can pull the camera out to a third person perspective. This gives them a tactical advantage wherein they can look around corners. However, this practice is unfair to gamers on the receiving end.
The two best emotes to exploit
The two emotes players are exploiting are the Point and the Sitting Bull gestures. The former animates for a long time, giving gamers the required window to move the mouse around and clock their surroundings. The latter, remarkably, does not return the gamer to the first-person perspective automatically, giving them the opportunity to rotate their cameras for an indefinite period of time.
The solution to Blackout's problem
Treyarch, being attentive to fan feedback, promised to fix this problem in the next update, though no specific time has been announced. Notably, it wants to launch a default system and a competitive system for the gestures. The former will be used in places where peeking won't affect gameplay, like Blackout's lobby, whereas the latter will restrict camera movements in competitive parts in-game.
