#GamingBytes: CoD Black Ops 4 multi-player gets improved server rates
'Call of Duty: Black Ops 4' was one of the most anticipated games this year, with numerous players jumping in during the beta phase. However, upon launch, they discovered that server rates in the multi-player mode were lower than rates during the beta period. The studio, Treyarch has now responded to player complaints and fixed the problem. Read all about it here.
All about the fluctuating server rates
Black Ops 4's server rates during the beta phase were at 60hz but had been reduced to 20hz during the complete launch. Treyarch said this was to accommodate the larger number of players and ensure everyone had a smooth gaming experience. However, it also promised to 'fine tune' the issue and now reports suggest that the server rates have gone up to 62hz.
Improved server rates are not for everyone
The improvement in server rates, which was noticed in the multi-player mode, appears to be in some testing phase. Several gamers, across various regions, have not yet noticed any improvement. Most likely, Treyarch is gradually rolling out this change.
Battle Royale players can't get satisfaction
Although the multi-player mode's server rates have improved, the Battle Royale, Blackout, is still capped at 20hz. Ironically, the server speed is more crucial here, with 88 players playing at once. Players have expressed their dissatisfaction, one said, "This is bulls**t, I bought this Call of Duty after not getting one for 5 years because I love BR." Hopefully, Treyarch will address it soon.
