Former India U-19 cricketer to lead USA national team
Saurabh Netravalkar's life is the story of follow your passion, work hard and you will always see results. 8 years ago, Netravalkar, represented India in the U-19 World Cup. He was a pace bowler and also played in one Ranji match for Mumbai. But he chose academics over sports and went to USA. Now he is going to lead the USA national cricket team.
Saurabh to lead USA in ICC League Division 3
Saurabh will be leading the US national cricket team in the ICC World Cricket League Division 3. This is a qualifying tournament for the ICC World Cup 2023. After playing for Mumbai in a Ranji match in 2013, Saurabh went to USA to study computer science in Cornell University. Saurabh became a software engineer with Oracle, but his desire for the sport stayed on.
Saurabh found the way out to make it big
According to a report in The Times of India, Saurabh stated that despite trying hard, making it big in cricket in India was tough. He then went on to describe how he took time out from office and went to play cricket in LA and San Francisco. He had to strike a balance between his work and passion.
Saurabh opens up on his schedule
Saurabh revealed, "On Friday, I used to leave a little early from office with a fellow player and drive to LA. We would play a 50-over game in LA on Saturday. Then we would drive back in the night and play a 50-over game in San Francisco on Sunday." He added, "I got picked this January when I became eligible for national selection."

The USA cricket team mainly comprises of players from Asian nations such as India and Pakistan. Further, there are also players from West Indies. Netravalkar's team is set to travel to Oman soon and play the Division 3 matches. Prior to him, Nadkarni and Hyderabad's Ibrahim Khaleel have led the USA cricket team.
