#IndiaInEngland: Jasprit Bumrah ruled out T20Is against England
What's the story
The Indian cricket team has suffered a big blow ahead of the three-match T20I series against England.
Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out alongside spinner Washington Sundar.
The in-form pacer suffered a broken finger and is set to return home to recover from the injury.
Meanwhile, Sundar twisted his ankle during a training session.
Here is more on the same.
Blow
In-form pacer will be a big miss against England
Apart from the T20Is, the pacer is also likely to miss the 3-match ODI series this month and that, in turn, is a big jolt to skipper Virat Kohli.
Bumrah will hope to be fit for the Test series, which starts from August 1.
He has been in tremendous form and picked 17 wickets in the IPL 2018, besides doing well against Ireland.
Weakened
Bowling department weakened without Bumrah
Bumrah's accuracy, variations and experience at the death have made him a vital cog in this Indian set-up.
The bulk of work now shifts on Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umesh Yadav's shoulders.
India had a good chance of stopping the Englishmen but now with the death-over specialist gone, the Indian bowling department looks a bit weakened.
Likely candidates
Who could replace the pacer?
Shardul Thakur has played 3 ODIs and 7 T20Is for India and was a key player in the Nidahas Trophy in March.
He was also a part of the series against South Africa. The player had a decent outing in the IPL 2018 as well.
Pacer Deepak Chahar can also be considered.
He is currently in England with the India A team.
