The talent hunt, organized by Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools (BBFS) and supported by enJogo, is a significant stride toward establishing a strong football infrastructure in India. The trials will provide a platform for young players to demonstrate their skills under the watchful eyes of AIFF/AFC-certified coaches. This initiative aims to unearth potential talent from various regions and help them sharpen their skills at the BBFS Residential Academy.
Bhutia's vision for youth development in Indian football
Bhutia emphasized the need for a solid foundation in Indian football, starting with youth development. "Our mission is to create pathways for young footballers to rise through the ranks, whether they come from big cities or remote areas," he said. The trials are part of this mission and aim to discover and nurture India's future football stars.
Talent hunt to run in phases over seven months
The trials is set to be conducted in stages over a period of seven months, with each city witnessing participation from over 200 students. Those selected will get a chance to train at BBFS, known for its successful track record in producing professional players. The BBFS Residential Academy will provide selected players with access to top-notch training facilities and experienced coaches.
BBFS Residential Academy: A launchpad for aspiring footballers
The BBFS Residential Academy will serve as a launchpad for players to enter the Indian national football team. Several BBFS players like Manbhakupar Malngiang, Lionel D Rymme, Bonifilia Shullai, Rohit Kumar, Deepika Pal, Wanshwa, Aryan Rathi, and Anjana Thapa have played for India or been part of the national camp.
