Spanish legend Fernando Torres announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 35 on Friday. Starting off with a bang at Atletico Madrid
Torres began his youth career at Atletico Madrid in 1995, before making his senior team debut in 2001. While he was just 15-year-old, he made good progress and earned a name for himself. He was named the captain by the age of 19, scoring 91 goals in 244 matches over a span of several seasons, before switching over to Liverpool.
Making impact in debut season at Liverpool
After signing with English giants Liverpool, he surprised everyone with his subtle gameplay. While he settled down easily, he recorded 33 goals in 46 games of his debut season. He also made it to the PFA Team of the Year. Overall, he had an immensely successful career with the club, scoring 81 goals in 142 appearances, before moving to Chelsea.

With Barca dominating Chelsea's box, Torres managed to sneak clear and round off goal-keeper Victor Valdes to score and take Chelsea to the final.
