Rajat Patidar has officially been named the new captain of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for the upcoming 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
The franchise made the announcement on February 13, after previously stating that a new leadership would be announced on the date.
This comes after Patidar's stellar performance in taking Madhya Pradesh to the final of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2024/25.

Century vs Lucknow Super Giants, 2022
Patidar was at his destructive best in the Eliminator of IPL 2022 against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
The dasher played a breathtaking knock and became the first uncapped player to score a ton in IPL playoffs.
Patidar finished with an unbeaten 112 off just 54 balls, guiding RCB to 207/4 at Kolkata's Eden Gardens.
His stunning knock was laced with 12 fours and seven sixes as RCB later defended the total.

58 vs Rajasthan Royals, 2022
Patidar backed his century in the 2022 Eliminator with another fifty in the second Qualifier against Rajasthan Royals.
Batting first in Ahmedabad, RCB lost the talismanic Virat Kohli (7) cheaply as Patidar arrived at number three.
He formed crucial partnerships with Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell en route to his fifty.
Patidar was eventually dismissed for a 42-ball 58 (4 fours, 3 sixes) as RCB finished at 157/8.
RR, however, later chased down the total.

55 vs Punjab Kings, 2024
Patidar treated the fans in Dharamsala with a majestic half-century against Punjab Kings in IPL 2024.
He joined Kohli in the middle when RCB were 44/2 after 4.4 overs.
Patidar got to his fifty from 21 balls with a six before being dismissed for a 23-ball 55. He smoked three fours and six sixes.
His pivotal 76-run stand alongside Kohli (92) meant RCB finished at a mammoth 241/7.
They later defended the total.

50 vs Mumbai Indians, 2024
Patidar smashed a whirlwind half-century versus Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2024 match at the Wankhede Stadium.
The batter arrived in the middle when RCB were 23/2 after 3.4 overs.
He didn't shy away and played well to help the RCB recover. Patidar also added 82 runs alongside du Plessis (61).
He finished with 50 from 26 balls, having smashed three fours and four sixes.
Patidar's heroics meant RCB finished at 196/8 but MI chased down the total.
