#GamingBytes: Five video games featuring popular DC Comics' characters, ranked
While Marvel has been more successful than DC on the big screen, the latter races way ahead when it comes to video games. Be it the Arkham trilogy featuring Batman or the brutally amazing Injustice series, DC has been quite successful with its video games. Here are five of the best video games featuring DC characters that you can buy today.
Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe: Kinda good, kinda bad
Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe was not a great game by any chance but its collection of characters and all the fighting made it an engaging one. Released as the eighth installment in the main Mortal Kombat series, the console-exclusive toned down the signature fatalities (because of righteous superheroes) and had a strictly average story. But hey! You could see Shazam fight Raiden!
Arkham Asylum: The best DC game until its sequel released
"Superhero games don't sell much" was a common perception until Rocksteady changed it for good with Arkham Asylum. It had every ingredient of a great game. From engaging gadgets to innovative combat mechanics and from Kevin Conroy's mesmerizing voice to an impeccable story, everything about the game screamed awesomeness! Its Game of the Year Edition can be bought on Steam for Rs. 565.
Arkham City: A whole new level for video games
Just when we thought superhero games couldn't get better than Arkham Asylum, its sequel entered the scene. It took everything from an already great game and made it even better. Conroy reprised his role as the story became more intricate and gameplay more appealing. It also retained the frustrating 'Riddler trophies'! Arkham City (including all DLCs) is available on Steam for Rs. 565.
Injustice 2: DC's best fighting game to date
Injustice series is to DC's fighting games what the Arkham series is to action-adventure video games. This sequel to Injustice: Gods Among Us featured an alternate DC reality where heroes became the villains and some villains, heroes. With some terrific graphics (especially Joker's design) and gameplay, Injustice 2 is one of the best fighting games ever. It is available on Steam for Rs. 1,499.
Arkham Knight: Rocksteady surpassed all expectations for the second time
While a lot of people would place this one below Arkham City, I found it better in terms of story and graphics. The game had a lot of interesting side-quests and featured a huge collection of Batman's Rogues Gallery. The best part? You could actually drive the Batmobile (that too in multiple designs) in Arkham Knight! Buy it on Steam for Rs. 1,899.
