The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 had earlier got postponed in wake of the coronavirus pandemic. However, the likely scenario could be the tournament getting cancelled. Sohail Tanvir was terrific in the inaugural edition against CSK
Former Pakistani pacer Sohail Tanvir played a solid role for Rajasthan Royals in the inaugural campaign in 2008. The left-arm pacer holds the record for delivering the best bowling figures (6/14). He scripted this feat against Chennai Super Kings. CSK were bowled out for a paltry 109 after his heroics. Royals then went on to chase the target with eight wickets to spare.
Adam Zampa stole the show against SRH in IPL 2016
Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa dictated the show against eventual title winners Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2016. Playing for Rising Pune Supergiant, the Aussie notched figures of 6/19. He became the only bowler alongside Tanvir to claim six wickets in an IPL match. His brilliance saw SRH get restricted to 137/8. But Pune couldn't build on the same and lost the match by four runs (133/8).
Anil Kumble rocked Newlands with stupendous performance
Legend Anil Kumble stood out for Royal Challengers Bangalorein 2009 edition of the IPL. The leg-spinner helped his side enjoy a commanding win over the Royals. Riding on a a sensational 66 by Rahul Dravid, RCB posted 133/8. In reply, RR were bowled out for just 58. Kumble ripped apart the oppositions with figures of 5/5 in 19 deliveries at Newlands, Cape Town.
Ishant shined for the Chargers in 2011
Indian fast bowler Ishant Sharma had earned a comeback to the IPL with Delhi Capitals in 2019 after years of oblivion, but he stood out for Deccan Chargers in 2011. Ishant decimated Kochi Tuskers with a brilliant spell of 5/12. Chargers posted a paltry 129/7 and needed to rely on the bowlers. Ishant responded with his magic and handed Chargers a 55-run win.
Alzarri Joseph clinched the best figures in IPL
Alzarri Joseph put up a commendable shift as he claimed 6/12 to tame SRH in IPL 2019. Chasing a total of 137, SRH succumbed to Joseph's bowling. Batsmen like David Warner, Vijay Shankar and Deepak Hooda fell prey to him. Among the tailenders, who became his victim, were Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Siddarth Kaul. West Indian Joseph eclipsed the record of Tanvir (6/14).
