Indian bowlers with four-plus wicket-hauls in Champions Trophy
What's the story
The upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025, scheduled to be co-hosted by Pakistan and UAE from February 19 to March 9, is creating a lot of buzz.
The tournament will see eight teams compete over a period of 19 days, playing a total of 15 matches.
Team India is among the favorites in the competition.
Here we look at Indians with four-plus wicket-hauls in CT history.
#4
Ashish Nehra - 4/55 vs Pakistan, 2009
Pakistan registered a 54-run victory over India in the 2009 group-stage CT game against India in Centurion.
Mohammad Yousuf (87) and Shoaib Malik (128) guided Pakistan to 302/9 in the first innings.
Pakistan's total would have been even more colossal had Ashish Nehra not dented them.
He dismissed both openers Imran Nazir and Kamran Akmal before claiming the key wicket of Yousuf.
Umar Akmal fell for him for a golden duck as Nehra finished with 4/55 (10 overs).
#3
Zaheer Khan - 4/45 vs Zimbabwe, 2002
The 2002 Champions Trophy game between India and Zimbabwe is mostly remembered for Mohammed Kaif's brilliant 111* and Rahul Dravid's 71.
However, Zaheer Khan also delivered a stunning spell in the game. The left-arm pacer made the new ball talk in Colombo and dismissed both openers, Alistair Campbell and Dion Ebrahim, cheaply.
Guy Whittall and Sean Ervine were his other victims as India won by 14 runs. Zaheer finished with 4/45 across 10 overs.
#2
Sachin Tendulkar - 4/38 vs Australia, 1998
Sachin Tendulkar was at his all-round best in India's outing against Australia in the inaugural CT, in 1998.
The Master Blaster made a fiery 128-ball 141 as India posted 307/8 while batting first in Dhaka.
Australia started off their chase well thanks to Mark Waugh's 74.
However, Tendulkar's stellar spell meant the team went from 145/1 to 263/10.
The likes of Steve Waugh, Michael Bevan, and Damien Martyn fell to Tendulkar as the spinner finished with 4/38 (9.1 overs).
#1
Ravindra Jadeja - 5/36 vs West Indies, 2013
Ravindra Jadeja is the only Indian with a fifer in the tournament. He produced a record-breaking performance in the 2013 Champions Trophy.
He took five wickets for just 36 runs (10 overs) against West Indies at The Oval. The left-arm spinner ignited a collapse as WI went from 103/1 to 182/9.
WI eventually finished at 233/9. India comfortably chased down the total as Jadeja was named the Player of the Match.
