Women's Cricket: Committee being set-up after 0-3 whitewash against Aussies
The BCCI has decided to form a committee to review Indian women's performance against Australia. The Indian eves lost the Women's ODI series against the Aussies by a whopping 0-3 margin. As per media reports, the committee will discuss and review India's performance besides formulating the way forward when they meet on March 28.
Who all would be a part of the committee?
The committee comprises of CoA member and former Indian women's cricketer Diana Edulji, besides current ODI and T20I team skippers Mithali Raj and Harmanpreet Kaur and also selection committee chief Hemlata Kala and Ratnakar Shetty (convener).
The important discussions on the table
The committee will discuss about creating a pool of players to bring vitality in the bench-strength. There will be a national camp where players will practice after a pool of cricketers that will be selected. The selectors have been asked to handpick a pool of players across pace, spin and batting departments. Talent from all parts of the country including Northeast will be scouted.
India's recent exploits
Indian women's team have enjoyed a good spell of cricket prior to the 0-3 home loss against Australia. They defeated South Africa in both ODIs and T20Is. The Indian eves also reached the final of the ICC Women's World Cup in 2017.
