National selectors are still waiting for their contracts
As per the reports, the SC appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) is yet to offer new contracts to the members of national selection committee. The national selection committee comprises of MSK Prasad, Devang Gandhi and Sarandeep Singh. Even though, the renewed contracts were due 5 months back, the members haven't received any intimation from the CoA.
17 months into the job and still no new contracts
The national selectors completed a year around 5 months back. As per the standard procedure, the contracts are renewed annually at the BCCI's Annual General Meeting (AGM). Since the board failed to call an AGM last year, there have been no information regarding renewed contracts being offered to the national selectors.
If players are important so are the selectors
"Even the players' contracts were supposed to be passed by the general body. If the players' needs are important and the rules were bent for them, then why not for the people who select them?" a top BCCI official said.
Gyanendra Pandey may become chairman of junior selection committee
In another development, ex-cricketer Gyanendra Pandey's name is being floated to fill the position of the chairman of junior selection committee. As per sources, Hemang Badani and Subramaniam Badrinath are the other two candidates for this position.
