BCCI announces massive reward for victorious U19 women's cricket team

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash reward of ₹5 crore for the Indian Under-19 women's cricket team.
The announcement comes after the team won the ICC Women's U19 T20 World Cup, at Bayuemas Oval.
The Indian team, led by Niki Prasad, went unbeaten in the tournament and clinched their second consecutive title with a thumping nine-wicket victory over South Africa in the final.

Meanwhile, BCCI President Roger Binny congratulated the team for successfully defending the title.
He said, "Congratulations to our girls for retaining the U19 Women's World Cup. It has been an exemplary campaign wherein they've remained unbeaten throughout."
Binny also noted that this win marks the growth of women's cricket in India and he was delighted at each member's contribution to this tournament.

G Trisha shines as highest run-scorer in tournament
G Trisha was the star player of the tournament, scoring the most runs (309) and winning both Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament awards. She also took seven wickets.
Spinners Vaishnavi Sharma and Aayushi Shukla topped the list of wicket-takers with 17 and 14 wickets respectively, displaying their bowling skills.
These individual performances played a major role in India's victory in the tournament.

BCCI secretary commends team's dedication and resilience
BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia also lauded the team for their incredible title defense at the ICC Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup 2025.
He said, "To achieve this historic feat and win the trophy for the second consecutive time showcases their dedication, resilience, and dominance on the global stage."
Saikia added that this win highlights India's strong grassroots cricket infrastructure and bright future in women's cricket.

India's spinners dominate final match against South Africa
In the final against South Africa, India's spinners picked nine wickets with Trisha Gongadi taking three.
The team restricted South Africa to 82 runs on a slow pitch.
Chasing, Trisha scored an unbeaten 44 off 33 balls while Sanika Chalke added a steady 26 not out off 22 deliveries.
India chased down the target in just over half of their allotted overs, winning their second consecutive title and becoming the first team to win the event without losing a match.
