Stellar year
Bumrah's exceptional performance in T20 World Cup and Tests
Bumrah's award follows a phenomenal year across all formats of the game.
His 15 wickets in the T20 World Cup helped end India's 17-year wait for the title, winning him Player of the Tournament.
In Test cricket, he finished 2024 as India's leading wicket-taker with 71 dismissals from just 13 matches.
The achievement puts him second only to Kapil Dev for most wickets by an Indian bowler in a calendar year.

Bumrah's dominance in Border-Gavaskar Trophy
Bumrah's prowess was on full display during the difficult Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. He was the leading wicket-taker with 31 scalps, further establishing himself as one of the world's top bowlers.
Although he is currently nursing a back injury, expectations are high for Bumrah to play a pivotal role in India's upcoming ICC Champions Trophy campaign next month.

Mandhana's record-breaking year in women's cricket
On the women's side, Smriti Mandhana had a phenomenal 2024. She was awarded the ICC Women's ODI Cricketer of the Year after scoring a record-breaking 743 runs, including four centuries.
