India vs England: Prasidh Krishna, Suryakumar named in ODI squad
The BCCI has announced Team India's ODI squad for the upcoming series against England. In an interesting development, young fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has earned his maiden international call-up. Top-order batsman Suryakumar Yadav has also found a spot in the side. The three-match ODI series will begin on March 23, following the completion of the ongoing T20I series. Here is more.

Prasidh Krishna joins in the pace segment
Prasidh Krishna, who is one of the most prolific fast bowlers in India's domestic circuit, will join the likes of Mohammed Siraj, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, and Shardul Thakur in the pace department for the impending series. The former scalped 14 wickets in the Vijay Hazare Trophy for Karnataka. Meanwhile, India's premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah misses out after taking an extended leave.
Suryakumar, Krunal rewarded for terrific performances
Suryakumar has received his long-due ODI call-up after performing well in the shorter format. He starred in India's eight-run victory in the fourth T20I against England. On the other hand, Krunal joins the squad on the back of his Vijay Hazare Trophy performance. He smashed 388 runs from five games at 129.33. His incredible tally also included two unbeaten hundreds and as many fifties.
Here are the notable exclusions
The likes of Manish Pandey, Mayank Agarwal, Sanju Samson, Ravindra Jadeja, Bumrah and Mohammed Shami remain the exclusions from the ODI team that was picked for the Australia tour. It is understood that Jadeja and Shami are still recovering from respective injuries.
The ODI series begins on March 23 in Pune
India and England are presently engaged in the five-match T20I series. The hosts made a terrific comeback by winning the fourth game. They leveled the series 2-2, with one game to go. After the series finale (March 20), the three-match ODI series begins on March 23 in Pune. The second and third ODI will be played on March 26 and 28 respectively.
