Dhoni not in T20I squads for series against WI, Australia
In what comes as a major surprise, the national selectors have not included MS Dhoni for the T20I series against West Indies and Australia. Further, Virat Kohli has been handed a rest for the three T20Is against West Indies. The selectors also announced the Test squad for the away series against Aussies and as expected, Rohit Sharma has made a comeback.

India to play a 3-match series against West Indies
Post the conclusion of the ODI series, India will lock horns with West Indies in a 3-match series. The matches will be played on November 4, 6 and 11. In the absence of regular skipper Kohli, Rohit will lead the side. Notably, this would be Sharma's third full series as T20I captain. MSK Prasad led committee has chosen Rishabh Pant over veteran Dhoni.
Rohit makes a comeback to Test fold, Dhawan rested
The selectors also announced the squad for the upcoming Tests against Australia. Both Murali Vijay and Rohit have made a comeback in the Test set-up, while Shikhar Dhawan has been dropped. Dhawan had a torrid time against England in Tests. Test regulars JB, Bhuvi, Ishant, Umesh and Shami have been included. Interestingly, youngster Prithvi Shaw has retained his spot in the squad.
