Sydney Thunder sign Lockie Ferguson, Sherfane Rutherford for BBL 2024
Sydney Thunder have bolstered their squad for the upcoming Big Bash League (BBL) season with the signing of New Zealand's Lockie Ferguson and West Indies's Sherfane Rutherford. The team is aiming to improve its performance after finishing last in the 2023/24 season. Both the players bring a wealth of franchise cricket expertise to the table. They have been playing in T20 leagues across the globe.
A look at Ferguson's T20 career

In 42 T20Is, the express pacer has snapped up 61 wickets for New Zealand at a remarkable average of 17.72. Ferguson, who has been NZ's mainstay white-ball seamer, played for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2024.
A look at Rutherford's T20 career
On the other hand, Rutherford has represented the West Indies in 21 T20Is, having slammed 362 runs at a strike-rate of 152.10. Overall, Rutherford owns 2,371 runs from 143 T20s at a strike-rate of 134.33. He is also a handy right-arm seamer. Like Ferguson, the Caribbean middle-order batter has represented a host of T20 franchises, including in the IPL.
