Barcelona to create history with 2019-20 season income: Here's how
Spanish champions Barcelona are reportedly eyeing a breakthrough income in the ongoing season, as they aim for a record €1 billion income. As per a statement released by them, they had made an income of €990 million last season, despite failing to make it to the final of the UEFA Champions League. Nonetheless, they are confident of achieving the landmark income this season.

"This figure represents a new record in the world of sport, and means the surpassing of internal forecasts since the Strategic Plan approved by the Board of Directors expected profits to reach the figure of 1 billion euros in 2021," said Barca's official statement.
Barca predict a profit of €11 million in ongoing season
As per Barca insiders, the club is predicting a profit of €11 million at the end of the ongoing season, asides stating that they also have a debt of €217.2 million. The debt comes following their hefty investment of €255 million on players in the transfer market this season, having owned Antoine Griezmann (€120 million) and Frenkie de Jong (€75 million) as well.
Barca expect to spend €1.007 billion this season
Meanwhile, the club insiders have also reported that a total of €1.007 billion investment is being eyed this season, which is an increase of €34 million from the previous season. However, they have also asserted that there would be a reduction of three percent in the wage bill from the previous season, by €18 million.
Barca were eager to sign Neymar, but at sustainable price
Meanwhile, Barca CEO Oscar Grau said that the club was willing to sign their former star Neymar, but not at the expense of club's financial stability. "We made a very big effort to get Neymar, we did everything possible. We made two offers, one including players and one without them but we got the feeling PSG never wanted to sell him," he said.
Barca struggling to find form this season so far
As far as Barca's campaign has gone so far this season, it's been rather disappointing. In La Liga, of the four matches, Barca have managed to win just a couple and are currently placed in the fifth spot in the table. They were also off to a shaky start in the UCL this week, while Lionel Messi's injury has made him an irregular starter.
