Here's what Barcelona's sporting director feels about Neymar's potential transfer
Brazilian superstar Neymar could be on the verge of returning to Spain after an unfulfilled stint at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). While he has reportedly expressed interest in returning to his former club, Barcelona, arch-rivals Real Madrid, too, have jumped into the frame, as they vie for his signature. Meanwhile, Barcelona sporting director has provided an update on the situation. Here's what he has said.
Barca still negotiating with PSG over Neymar deal
Speaking on the issue, Barcelona club director Javier Bordas said that there has been no agreement between the clubs yet. However, he asserted that negotiations are still on between the clubs, as a potential deal seems to be edging closer. Also, on being quizzed that if money would be involved rather than a swap deal, Bordas confirmed by saying, "Yes, of course."
PSG and Barca officials met on Tuesday to discuss deal
Meanwhile, as per Guillem Balague of BBC Radio 5 Live's, club officials from both PSG and Barca have met in Paris on Tuesday regarding a potential deal for Neymar. While the fallout of the meeting is reported to be positive, Balague believes that there is still a lot of work to be done before the deal is closed.
Barca willing to offer €170 million for Neymar
According to BBC, Barca are willing to offer an amount of €170 million for Neymar, which would be paid over a loan period of a year. While the loan is likely to cost €35 million, the club might choose to offer player/s as a part of a swap deal to reduce the involvement of cash in the deal.
Neymar looking to force a move to Barcelona
In the meantime, it is also being reported that Neymar is pushing for the deal to go through, as he wants to switch pastures. Although he has not put any pressure on PSG for the move, he is said to be favoring a move back to Barcelona, rather than joining Real Madrid. Meanwhile, he also feels optimistic about his chances.
Neymar unhappy at PSG
As of now, Neymar is reportedly unhappy at PSG. He has not been able to make the desired impact at the French capital, while he has remained mostly injury prone, as the club has missed his services on a lot of occasions. Consequently, he is willing to force a move to Barcelona as he and both the clubs await for a possible deal.
